Crews this morning began demolition of a former Parisian warehouse at Carraway Boulevard and 12th Avenue North in North Birmingham. Birmingham Mayor Larry Langford came to the site of the abandoned building and said the property will be given to the South Korean firm that's investing $15 million to help nearby Physicians Medical Center Carraway and wants to invest millions to revitalize the Norwood community. Officials of the company, Shinsegae USA, say they eventually want to use the property for a hotel. |
